History of the School
Montfort School, a Catholic English Medium School, established in 2002, under the Meghalaya Board of School Education.
It is administered by the Soceity of the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel, a Congregation founded in France in 1705 by St. Louis Marie Grignion De Montfort (1673-1716).
Following the footsteps of St. Montfort, who was a great missionary, three French Brotherss came to India in the educational needs of the youth.
Today the society administers about 196 educational institutions spread over 18 states in India.
Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel is today an international organization working in 33 countries in the world.
The Brothers are actively involved in the promotion of education and culture through Academic Schools, Junior colleges, schools for the Blind and Deaf, Teacher Training Institutes,
Industrial Training Institutes, Vocational Training Centers, Youth Centers, Orphanages, homes for the aged, Rural development programmes.
